Dr Sarah Hicks
M.Clin. Chiro.,B.App.Sc (Comp Med) B.App.Sc. (Psych/Psychophys)
Sarah is a caring and dedicated chiropractor who is passionate about helping busy families perform at their best. She uses a holistic approach to help achieve long lasting changes to her patients’ health and wellbeing.
Sarah graduated with distinction from her chiropractic studies in 2010 and was awarded Chiropractic Graduate of the Year. She also holds a science degree in psychology and psychophysiology from Swinburne University. Prior to becoming a chiropractor, Sarah gained experience in sleep science, research, and worked as a chiropractic assistant—giving her a well-rounded understanding of both clinical practice and the science of health and wellbeing.
Since 2011, Sarah has been a dedicated practitioner at In Harmony Chiropractic. Her journey took her to Canberra for a year, where she continued practicing during a temporary relocation for her husband’s work. Deeply connected to the practice and the local community, she was thrilled to rejoin the team at In Harmony upon moving back to Melbourne.
Sarah is a mother of two, with personal experience across a range of birth settings. Her first child was born in a birth centre with the support of a doula, and her second was born at home. She navigated significant feeding challenges in the early months of parenthood. These experiences have deepened her appreciation of informed choices, continuity of care, and support through both pregnancy and the vulnerable post partum period.
Sarah recognises both the joy and the challenges of raising a healthy family. She believes that holistic chiropractic care can be a powerful tool to help parents and children feel more balanced, supported, and well - guided by a well-functioning nervous system. She has a special interest in women’s health and values supporting women through all life stages.
Sarah has a strong passion for supporting neurodivergent families, individuals with hypermobility and/or chronic pain, those living with chronic conditions (often lovingly called “spoonies”), and their carers. Through her own lived experience, she brings a depth of insight and empathy that goes far beyond what can be found in a quick Google search—offering compassionate, informed care tailored to each unique situation.
In her practice, Sarah uses a range of gentle, low-force and manual chiropractic techniques tailored to each individual’s needs and preferences. These include craniosacral therapy, Activator, drop-piece, and spinal and extremity adjusting.
Outside of work, Sarah is a prolific reader of fiction and non-fiction – often with many books and research papers on the go at once! She loves cooking from scratch, gardening, practicing yoga and meditation and relaxing on the couch with her kids and Cavoodle.
